Tether's freezes are issued by a multisig contract, and the proposal is itself a public on-chain transaction. Anyone can read it. Almost nobody watches it.
The owner of Tether's USDT contract is a multisig wallet. Freezing an address starts with submitTransaction, which emits a public
Submission event. Nothing is frozen yet — but the intent is on chain.
We read both contracts continuously and decode which address the proposal targets and whether it is a freeze or an unfreeze. If it hits your watchlist, you get a message — target under 30 seconds.
Once enough confirmations arrive, Execution fires,
AddedBlackList is emitted, and the address is frozen. The gap between step 01 and step 03 is the only window there is.
Limits belong up front, not in a footnote you find afterwards.
Don't take our word for it. These are the contracts and events — every number on this site is reproducible from them.
